A brand new concept
A new tourist attraction located between Yanchao and Gangshan Districts that officially open to public in February 14th, 2018 is the first and only skywalk in Kaohsiung City. Built on the top of a hill, the white-colored bridge looks like a violin with 24 suspension cables, 40.5 meters tall, 88 meters long and 2 meters wide, and the park has approximately covered 1.8 hectares of land.
Standing at the bridge, visitors will see a stunning view of scenic Agongdian Reservoir, forest park, river, and hiking trails. The bridge will be opened based on the weather conditions permission. For people who live nearby this place is suitable for a weekend getaway since it just takes 50 minutes from main city of north Kaohsiung. We traveled there by scooter with our companion. The location is easy to reach, but it just has not many sign to go to the place and might confuse you during the journey. However there are shuttle buses provided from parking lots. We were unfortunately lost for another few minutes, but we made it to the place after that. There is no parking lot for cars on the top of the hill, but some taxis are ready to take you home or everywhere. To go to the bridge you should buy a ticket full price for adult and half-fare. We were there during weekend around the closing hour and there were not a lot of people that evening. In my opinion, evening is the right time because it will not be that hot and sunshine is not too bright. The birds-eye view is stunning between the natural scenic area and city view from afar. That day the clear was clear blue and sunset sky, so freaking nice!
How to get there:
Stop at Gangshan South MRT Station (R24), take bus Red 68 from exit 1 or take a taxi. If you drive a car you may park at parking lots that available at Agondian Reservoir Management Center, Agongdian Forest Park, Tsailiao Rd. Parking lot and Dazhuang Park and take a shuttle bus that departs every 15 to 20 minutes or taxi.
